LIVE: Ella Eyre - O2 Brixton Academy

From the set go, Ella Eyre’s energetic performance captured her audience – She jumped, head banged, hair flicked and high kneed her way all over o2 Brixton Academy’s stage, whilst every note sung was flawless.

Dressed in a silver sparkled cat suit and of course her famous curly hair flying loose, Ella reminded her audience why she is more than just a mass of hair and just how her voice has seen her recently crowned best female at the MOBO awards. For whether it was feel good tracks like ‘together’ and ‘all about you’ or slowing down the tempo for a lighters (or camera phone lights) in the air moment like ‘we don’t have to take our clothes off’, Ella did not flaw once.

As Ella sang her way through her brand new album ‘Feline’, which is also the name of the tour, she took the time to interact with her fans (- a big must do in my books) from the front row to the top of the balconies. Ella made sure that the audience was singing along as loud as they could.

A specific highlight from the whole night was Ella slowing down from the high beat tracks and singing just purely with a piano for her version of ‘we don’t have to take our clothes off’, which clearly from the volumes of the audience is a fan favourite too. The track highlighted Ella’s beautiful voice for high notes and also her ability to captivate an audience by just her voice.

Ella’s support acts included Jasmine Thompson and Nina Nesbitt, both of whom also shared incredible voices. Amazingly, Jasmine Thompson is just 15 years old which made her performance even more so incredible. She also had the ability to stun her audience and is definitely one to watch out for over the next coming months or years, whilst Nina got the crowd going with her take of The Weeknd’s ‘I can’t feel my face.’

Overall, the night showcased just why the 21 year old is at the top of the best female acts in the UK and Ella is definitely one to see live for if it isn’t her voice that captivates you, it will be her very energetic performance!
