 The editor of the newspaper sent me to an event at Basildon sporting centre. They wanted me to speak to the athletes that lived or trained in their reporting areas and find a story. I spoke to these three athletes are I thought they was most relevant to the newspaper and also wrote a feature on each athlete too. |  This piece was a follow up piece that the newspaper had already done. I spoke to Kelly Hunt and she updated me on Madison and their situation with her sensory room. |

 This is a story that I suggested to the news team about a local charity fundraiser. I found this story by looking into a poster for her charity sale as part of a university project and found that she had been raising money for 25 years. By contacting Joyce I found out just how much money she had raised. |  This is a follow up feature the newspaper wanted me to do on Joyce. |
 For this piece I had to ring every infant/primary school that was placed within the newspaper's reporting areas (Castle Point, Basildon (laindon, Pitsea, Vange), Wickford, Southend, Leigh, Westcliff and Chalkwell etc). |  A story given to the newspaper for me to cover. |
 By answering the phone on work experience for the newspaper I got the chance to run this story. One of the mums of the dancers rung the newspaper to get support for the group so I spoke to several members of the group for quotes. |  This is a piece that the editor assigned me to do for the morning.
